Central College Athletics

Austen Schueler joined the Central football staff as an assistant coach in 2008.

A 2008 graduate, Schueler was a defensive back for the Dutch. He was a member of three Iowa Conference championship teams and was a three-time NCAA playoff participant. In his three seasons he helped the Dutch post a 29-1 regular-season record. 

The two-time letterwinner received the Mel VerMeer Loyalty Award and the P.H. Kuyper Award in 2007. A Granger native, Schueler was also a two-year letterwinner for the men's track and field squad, competing in the triple jump and javelin throw. He was an assistant coach for Central's track and field program from 2008-12.

Schueler's wife, Ashley, is also a Central graduate. They have one child.
