WAVERLY— Scoring six birdies with no bogeys, Central College women's golf junior Allie Pfantz (State Center, West Marshall HS) carded a 66 in the final round of the Wartburg Fall Invitational Sunday.
           
Playing on the par-72 Prairie Links Golf Course at 5,629 yards, Pfantz started her day on hole 10 with a birdie and kept the momentum throughout the day before finishing with her sixth birdie on hole nine. She broke the program's previous low-round record set in 2022 by Delaney Underwood of 69.
           
She won the tournament by three strokes with a 36-hole score of 75-66—141.
           
In the team standings, Central tied for 10th of 15 teams at 331-314—546. The University of Dubuque won the team trophy at 304-290—594.
           
Mickey Martens (senior, Villa Park, Ill., Willowbrook HS) was second for the Dutch, tying for 47th at 82-80—162. Chloe Sundet (junior, Urbandale, Waukee Northwest HS) placed 63 at 85-83—168. Freshman Jessie Lohman (freshman, Ames) scored for Central both days and finished 77th (89-85—174).
           
The Dutch will compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic next Saturday and Sunday in Bloomington, Illinois.
