PELLA—The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its academic awards Wednesday and both the Central College men's and women's teams were honored alongside 19 individual student-athletes who earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
The women's squad posted a 3.64 combined team grade point average (4.0 scale) and posted a 8-11 overall record. The Dutch men tallied a 3.35 GPA and had a 5-17 mark. The women were fifth in the American Rivers Conference and the men tied for fifth.
To receive the team distinction, a squad's combined GPA must be a 3.2 or above.
Nine men and 10 women were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. To qualify for the individual honor a student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or higher GPA for the academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
