Points in the National Team Rating Index are based off placement in the National Descending Order Lists. The higher an athlete sits on the top-35 list, the more points he or she adds to his or her team's total. These points do not reflect placement or scoring at the NCAA Championships but are to show the individuals and teams that have the best chances at scoring well at said meet.
Gavin Smith (senior, Audubon) and
Gage Huyser (senior, Pella) joined the lists in the heptathlon in eighth (4,917 points) and 12th (4,824 points), respectively.
Grant Miller (senior, Norwalk) also broke the top 20 with the No. 19 time in the 60-meter hurdles (8.22 seconds).
Olivia Bohlen (senior, Belle Plaine), Emily McMartin (senior, Pella), Alivia Roerdink (sophomore, Tiffin, Ohio, Hopewell-Loudon HS) and
Ava Parkins (senior, Monmouth, Ill., Burlington Notre Dame [Iowa] HS) clocked in at 3:57.03 at the Grinnell Invitational Saturday, but after conversion they are the No. 7 qualifier in Division III. Parkins and McMartin are now No. 22 (58.39) and No. 26 (25.61) in the 200-meter dash, respectively after their marks at Grinnell.
The majority of Central's athletes will compete at the Wartburg Indoor Select this Saturday. A handful of athletes are set to compete at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska on Friday.
