INDIANOLA — Winning eight of 10 matches in bonus-point fashion, the Central College men's wrestling team powered past Simpson College 46-0 Thursday night.
Central (14-5, 6-2 American Rivers Conference) started the night with a 32 second pin by
Dominick Marre (sophomore, Carol Stream, Ill., Glenbard North HS) at 125 pounds.
Samuel West (senior, Burlington, Notre Dame HS) also ended his match in the first period with a fall at 1:39 at 197 pounds.
Four other Central wrestlers won by technical fall including
Pierre Baldwin (senior, 141 pounds, Chicago, Ill., West Chicago HS) who won 20-3 wrestling up a class at 149 pounds. Fellow seniors
Kevin Hogan (senior, Monee, Ill., Peotone HS) and
Hayden Hearne (senior, Urbandale) were victorious in their final dual. Hogan had a 19-3 technical fallwin at 165 pounds. Hearne won 4-1 at 285 pounds.
Central hosts the Last Chance Invitational at 4 p.m. Friday in the H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.
