Dutch women stay fourth in regional cross country rankings

PELLA— A stellar performance at the pre-national meet Saturday enabled the Central College men's cross country team to move up 10 slots in the third edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's weekly Division III national rankings.

Central moved from No. 27 all the way to No. 17 after finishing 12th at the Running of the Cows hosted by Carleton College on this year's national championship course. The Dutch finished in front of four teams that had been ranked higher than them last week.

The regional rankings remained stagnant for the men's and women's teams in the Midwest region. The Dutch women stayed at No. 4 and the men remained No. 5.

Williams College became the top team nationally on the women's side while Wartburg College took over the No. 1 spot in the men's poll.

Central is off this weekend before competing in the Augustana Interregional on Saturday, October 17 in Rock Island, Illinois.
