PELLA—A team-high nine tackles plus an interception and blocked kick earned Central College defensive back Ben DeMeulenaere (senior, Chelsea, Belle Plaine HS) a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week.
           
DeMeulenaere led the team with nine tackles, including six solo stops. He blocked an extra point in the first quarter and made an interception on Dubuque's final offensive play of the game. Central won 35-16 after scoring 28 unanswered points in the second half and limiting the Spartans to 70 total offensive yards after halftime.
           
Central (4-0 overall, 2-0 American Rivers), who is No. 18 in the most recent D3football.com poll, travels to Loras College for a 1 p.m. game in Dubuque Saturday.
