PELLA — In its first triathlon of the season, Central College rolled to a 50-11 dual victory over Coe College Saturday morning
Starting at 6:30 a.m. at Roberts Creek outside of Pella, the competitors swam 212 meters before completing a 12-kilometer bike and 3.5-kilometer run. Central's top-six athletes finished before any Kohawks completed the course.
Adeline Koritz (sophomore, Clinton) was the individual champion in a time of 54 minutes, 21 seconds. She tied for the fastest swimming split (11 minutes, 16 seconds) and fastest bike/run segment (43:05).
Luci Laidlaw (senior, Pella) was the runner-up in a total time of 55:05.
Grace Benson (senior, Newton) was third for the Dutch in 58:01 after sharing the fastest swim split with Koritz.
Central will complete a splash and dash in Clear Lake, Indiana hosted by Trine University on Thursday, September 18.
