PELLA— Kale Purcell (senior, Holton, Kan.) was selected as the American Rivers men's field athlete of the week.
           
Competing at the Liz Wuertz Invitational Purcell won the triple jump. He jumped a new career-best 48 feet, 5.25 inches. With this mark he now sits one inch from the school record and has the fifth highest mark in Division III this season.
           
The next meet for the team is the American Rivers Conference Championships in Waverly, Iowa Friday and Saturday.
