LA CROSSE, WIS. — The Central College men's wrestling team went 2-1 at the La Crosse duals Saturday, winning twice by wide margins.
Central (4-1) started the day with 48-4 win over University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and finished with a 49-5 win over Augustana College (Ill.). Central fell 24-17 in its second match of the day against No. 5 Wis. – La Crosse.
The Dutch had four wrestlers go 3-0 on the day as
Carter West (sophomore, 133 pounds, Burlington, Notre Dame HS),
Pierre Baldwin (senior, 141 pounds, Chicago, Ill., West Chicago HS), Cade Siebrecht (senior, 149 pounds, Lisbon) and
Christian Stanek (junior, 157 pounds, Cedar Rapids, Xavier HS) each went unblemished.
West had a 13-6 decision over No. 13 Wyatt Magolski of Wis.- La Crosse. Baldwin, who is No. 3 nationally, also logged a ranked win with an 8-2 decision against No. 11 Talan Schutte of Wis. – La Crosse. Stanek won all three of his matches by technical fall.
Central travels to Mount Vernon for duals against Cornell College and the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point next Saturday.
