Central crosses the century mark in men’s basketball win

Dutch go over 100 points for first time this season

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA— A blistering hot first half allowed the Central College men's basketball team to cruise to a 100-68 win over Bridgewater State University (Mass.) Tuesday.
           
Central (7-5) went 2-0 in its third appearance at the D3hoops.com Classic.
           
The Dutch made 10 of 19 3-point attempts and 21 of 37 overall while scoring 58 points in the game's first 20 minutes.
           
Braylon Thomsen (freshman, Carbon Cliff, Ill., Davenport Assumption [Iowa] HS) came off the bench to score a team-high 16. Kyle Cason (freshman, Grimes, Dallas Center Grimes HS) had 15 while Anthony Gott (sophomore, Davenport, North Scott HS) had 14 points and seven rebounds.
           
Carson Jones (sophomore, Elkhorn, Neb., Creighton Prep) and Sage Suntken (sophomore, Sheffield, West Fork HS) also reached double figures in points with 12 and 11, respectively.
           
Owen Schipper (sophomore, Waukee)
led the team with eight rebounds. Schipper, Suntken and Grant Uecker (sophomore, Urbandale) each had three assists.
           
Central finishes non-conference play at 7-2 and returns to American Rivers Conference play on Wednesday, January 7 by hosting Loras College at 7:30 p.m. inside P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.
