Dutch women bounced from league soccer tournament

Three second-half goals costs Central

DUBUQUE — A barrage of second-half goals by the University of Dubuque cost the Central College women's soccer team in a 4-0 defeat Wednesday.
           
Central (10-5-3) ended its season in the conference tournament semifinals for the second season in a row. Dubuque (11-1-6) will host the finals on Saturday.
           
"Today was a tough one," coach Mike Kobylinski said. "Credit to Dubuque, they showed why they were the regular season champions. We just couldn't find ourselves in the match."
           
The Dutch were outshot 20-4 on the night. Junior Rylee Rustad (Gilbert, Ariz., Casteel HS) had three of Central's shot attempts.
           
Goalkeeper Zoey Sizemore (junior, Omaha, Neb., Mercy HS made 10 saves in the 76 minutes of play.   
           
"Although tonight hurts, we will hold our head up high for this season," Kobylinski said.
