MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.— Shooting nearly 50% from beyond the arc and making 11 3-pointers spelled success for the Central College men's basketball team against Augsburg University (Minn.) Saturday in an 81-73 victory.
The Dutch (3-1) had seven different players make a 3-pointer, hitting 11 of 24 attempts as a team.
Alex Ruba (junior, Ames, Gibert HS) had two of them on his way to a game-high 23 points. It was a career-high for the junior forward.
Sophomore
Carson Jones (sophomore, Elkhorn, Neb., Creighton Prep) also had a career-high 17 points.
Grant Uecker (sophomore, Urbandale) had 12 points and seven assists.
Owen Schipper (sophomore, Waukee had nine rebounds and five assists.
The Dutch make their home debut next Friday with a 7 p.m. game against Cornell College.
