Holle, Tiedemann lead Central women’s soccer offense at Nebraska Wesleyan

Collegiate scoring debuts for two Dutch players

LINCOLN, NEB. — A pair of first-time goal scorers sparked the Central College women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory at Nebraska Wesleyan University Saturday.
           
The Dutch (7-4-2, 2-3-1 American Rivers Conference) offense fired of 27 shots and put 11 on frame while the Prairie Wolves (2-6-5, 0-3-2 conference) had just 11 total shots and three on goal.
           
"Today was a great team win against a tough Nebraska Wesleyan side," coach Mike Kobylinski said. "We came in with a game plan and executed it well."
           
Emerson Holle (freshman, Gardner, Kan., Gardner-Edgerton HS)
scored her first career goal with an assist from Lucy Tiedemann (sophomore, Kirksville, Mo.) in the 35th minute. Tiedemann added her first collegiate goal just under five minutes later to put Central on top for good 2-0.
           
"We scored two very nice goals today," Kobylinski said. "Those were critical contributions."
           
Goalkeeper Zoey Sizemore (junior, Omaha, Neb., Mercy HS) had her second shutout of the week making while three saves. She's now at five shutouts this season.
           
Central now has seven points in the conference standings with three matches remaining as the team's fight for a top six finish to make the league tournament.
           
"Feels good to get another win in the league as well," Kobylinski said. "We continue to peak at the right time like last year."
           
The Dutch dip back into non-conference play with a 3:30 p.m. match at home against the University of Northwestern – St. Paul (Minn.) on Thursday.
