SEWARD, NEBRASKA — Playing in a pair of preseason exhibition games at the Cattle Classic hosted by Concordia University (Neb.), Central men's basketball center Joshua Van Gorp was picked for the all-tournament team.
           
Central split pair of exhibition contests against NAIA programs Concordia and Hastings College (Neb.). The Dutch lost against 86-69 against the hosts on Friday and won 83-82 against Hastings on Saturday.
           
Van Gorp had 33 points and 15 rebounds in the loss and then scored 37 with eight boards in the victory.
           
Central opens the regular season on Friday, November 15 p.m. against St. John's University (Minn.) at 7 p.m. in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium. The Johnnies are in the preseason D3hoops.com poll at No. 12.
