PELLA—The American Rivers Conference released its all-conference football team Friday and Central College led the league with 15 selections.
On defense, defensive end
Nick Bandy (senior, Dubuque, Wahlert HS), defensive lineman
Tate Hagen (fifth year, Britt, West Hancock HS), linebacker
Reid Pakkebier (senior, Cedar Rapids, Kennedy HS) and cornerback
Gavin Smith (junior, Audubon) were all first-team choices. Safety
Reece Miller (fifth year, Center Point, Center Point-Urbana HS) and linebackers
Cole Clark (junior, Lisbon) and
Cael Fiderlein (senior, West Branch) were tabbed for the second team.
Offensively, wide receiver
Ryan Neu (fifth year, West Des Moines, Valley HS and offensive tackle
Kade Tippet (senior, Eldridge, North Scott HS), were first-team selections. Tight end
Grant Nelson (senior, Pella), running back
Jase Grunder (sophomore, Tampico, Ill., Prophetstown HS) and center
Maximus Reitano (junior, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) were named to the second team.
Central nearly swept the first-team specialists honors as kicker
Logan Sunvold (fifth year, Monroe, Southeast Polk HS), punter
Austin Burns (fifth year, Williamsburg).and long snapper
Josh Dennison (senior, Romeoville, Ill.) were all chosen.
Cornerback
Ben DeMeulenaere (junior, Chelsea, Belle Plaine HS) and offensive tackle
Tyler Harms (junior, Bondurant, Bondurant-Farrar HS) also received honorable mention
Central's 15 selections for the all-conference team were more than the league champions Wartburg College (13) and runners-up Coe College (13)
Central posted an overall 8-2 record and went 6-2 American Rivers to finish third.
