AMES— The Central College women's basketball team started its season in an exhibition match against Division I No. 8 Iowa State University and lost 105-53.
           
CeCe Moore (sophomore, Waterloo, West) led the Dutch with 11 points while also grabbing 8 rebounds. Abby Johnson (senior, Ankeny) scored 10 points
           
Bailey Reding (junior, Grundy Center) scored eight points off the bench for Central to lead that unit. Also, off the bench Jasmyn Williams (junior, Denver, Colo., Arvada West) led the team with six assists while also having zero turnovers
           
The squad shot 30% from the field, 34.6% from three-point range and 8-10 from the free throw line.
           
The Dutch starts their regular season on Nov. 8th hosting St. Olaf (Minn.) in the P.H. Kuyper Gymnasiam at 6 p.m.
