PELLA— Despite having holding possession for 60 percent of the game, the Central College men's soccer team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan University 3-0.

Nebraska Wesleyan (10-6, 5-3 American Rivers) opened the scoring in the 12th minute before adding goals in the 34th and 69th minutes.
"There was some uncharacteristic defending on our part today," coach
Garry Laidlaw said. "Unfortunately, when you fall behind in matches like this it is difficult to chase and get back in the game. As a team we will take what we have learned from this game and use the experience to be better in the future."
Ethan Rodriguez (freshman, Des Moines, Roosevelt HS) and
Lucas Bartachek (senior, Waukee) were the two Central players to put a shot on goal.
Teddy Apostolopoulos (freshman, Pella) and
Jack Hillis (sophomore, Clive, Waukee HS) caught the attention of Laidlaw.
"They gave us some quality play in the midfield," said Laidlaw.
The squad finishes up the regular season Tuesday when it travels to Dubuque to take on Loras College at 1 p.m.
