DUBUQUE—The Central College volleyball team tacked another victory to its winning streak by defeating Westminster College (Mo.) in five sets Saturday at the Loras Invitational.
After winning the first set, Central (10-1) dropped two sets against the Blue Jays (2-6) before eventually securing a 25-10, 12-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-10 victory. The Dutch have now won eight consecutive matches.
"It was for sure not our best match," coach
Jeanne Czipri said. "We just came out too lazy and undisciplined to play clean and strong. The positive takeaway is that we are capable of bouncing back and finding a way to win."
Outside hitter
Gracie Daniels (senior, Broken Arrow, Okla.) led the team with 14 kills on 26 attempts.
"Gracie D stepped up huge as a leader," Czipri said. "She found a way to get the team to play to win."

Central returns home for a non-conference match against Grinnell College at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
