Central places 10 on all-conference football squad

Sunvold is a three-time first-team pick, Klein tabbed for second time

PELLA—Ten Central College players received American Rivers All-Conference football honors.
           
Linebacker Brody Klein (senior, Rainier, Wash.), offensive tackle Kade Tippet (junior, Eldridge, North Scott HS), kicker Logan Sunvold (senior, Monroe, Southeast Polk HS) and return specialist Hunter Wilkinson (senior, Jensen Beach, Fla.) were first-team picks.
           
Named to the second team were defensive tackle Hunter Olson (5th-year, Peoria, Ariz., Sunrise Mountain HS), linebacker Reid Pakkebier (junior, Cedar Rapids, Kennedy HS), strong safety Cameron Bannister (5th-year, State Center, West Marshall HS), offensive guard Tristan Hunt (senior, Britt, West Hancock HS), wide receiver Ryan Neu (senior, West Des Moines, Valley HS) and punter Austin Burns (senior, Williamsburg).
           
Defensive lineman Tate Hagen (senior, Britt, West Hancock HS), quarterback Hunter Hoffman (sophomore, Pecatonica, Ill.), tight end Grant Nelson (junior, Pella) and center Maximus Reitano (sophomore, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) received honorable mention.
           
Sunvold is now a three-time first-team pick while Klein was named to the first team for the second time. Bannister is a three-time second-team selection and Neu is a two-time second-team choice.
           
Sunvold led the league with eight field goals in 13 attempts. He averaged 59.7 yards on 68 kickoffs with 17 touchbacks and converted 52 of 53 extra-point tries.
           
Klein notched 51 tackles, including 26 unassisted stops with seven tackles for loss, two interceptions and six pass breakups while missing the final two games due to injury.
           
Tippet was part of an offensive line that helped Central generate 442.3 yards of offense and 42.8 points each game.
           
Wilkinson led the conference with a 24.6-yard average on 17 kickoff returns. He also averaged 6.4 yards on 21 punt returns.
           
Central posted an 8-2  record with a 6-2 American Rivers mark, good for third place.
