PELLA—Central College defensive lineman Blade Durbala (senior, Blairstown, Benton HS) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware.
           
Durbala record three sacks and five tackles for loss in Central's 49-14 rout of Simpson College Saturday in Pella. He was earlier tabbed as the defensive player of the week for the American Rivers Conference.
           
It's the second time that Durbala, a 6-1, 285-pound three-year letterwinner, has received the D3fooball.com award. He was previously cited Oct. 5, 2019. He was a first-team American Rivers all-conference pick in 2019 and was a third-team D3football.com All-West Region selection.
           
Central (1-0) makes its only road appearance in the abbreviated spring season Saturday, taking on Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln at 1 p.m.
