Why did you chose Central?
Well I originally found Central through a recruiting website. I never pictured myself going to such a small school in Iowa of all places, but when I came to Central for a summer soccer camp, I just immediately loved it. Everyone was so nice, and the campus is so pretty, and I really liked Coach Laidlaw, so he made me really want to come to Central and play for him.
Favorite professor and why?
Its probably a tie between Professor Nwaugo, and Professor Peterson. George is very interesting to learn from, especially in my LAS class about immigration I had with him because he could share his own personal stories about immigrating to the US, but he is also very funny and challenging with the way he teaches. But Brian is really interesting too. His teaching style is very intriguing, and he makes the material interesting because he kind of makes it all a puzzle, and so it’s fun to try and solve the puzzles.
Who are your go-to musical artists ?
I have opposite ends of the spectrum on this. I really like country and rap. My favorite country artist is either Zac Brown Band or Brad Paisley. And my favorite rap artists are either Russ or J Cole.
You’re majoring in Economics because?
It is probably going to sound a little ridiculous, but I am majoring in Economics because I want to do something in my life that helps fix or improve the American Economy. I find the analytics of economics very interesting, and I prefer the governmental side of Economics. I had always been interested in a business degree, and Economics was a topic that was both challenging, and intriguing to me.
What’s the best part of having grown up in Colorado
That’s a tough one honestly. I would have to say the soccer. I know that’s not a very Colorado specific answer because there is soccer everywhere, but growing up playing soccer shaped me into who I am now and I wouldn’t want to be anyone else or anywhere else in life really, and I have growing up playing soccer in CO to thank for that.
If you were a famous WWE wrestler, what would your stage name be?
The Closer. Deal Closers Only.
What are five words your friends would use to describe you?
Probably talkative, obnoxious (at times), funny, generous, and caring. At least I hope so with those last three.
If you could sing a duet with one person, who would it be and why?
I don’t know if she is a good singer or not, but I am going to have to go with Margot Robbie just because she is so attractive and the duet would mean I’d get to hang out with her.
Who is your hero/inspiration?
My hero is definitely my mom. She had me when she was 18 years old, and she spent the first 5 years of my life as a single mom. I can be a pain in the butt sometimes, especially when I was little, and so I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for her to manage me on top of getting through life at that age, and still finding ways to be the best mom I could have ever asked for. She has always been there for me, and she does whatever it takes in life to give me a better life, and I can’t thank her enough for that. I love you Mom.
Favorite MLS team and favorite European club team?
Favorite MLS team is the Colorado Rapids because we have season tickets, and my favorite European Club is Manchester United.
Favorite TV Show
It’s a toss up between The Office, and How I Met Your Mother, it just depends on my mood at the time.
What’s one thing people might not know about Coach Laidlaw?
Garry is surprisingly good at both cornhole and Go Kart racing.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central soccer?
Definitely all of my teammates. I have never felt such a strong connection to team. It sounds cliché, but we really are a family. I have had people tell me its intimidating how close knit the soccer guys all are. And that’s not just the freshmen, everyone from all classes are very close. I feel part of a family being on the soccer team, and I love having all my Dutch brothers.

Ideally playing professional soccer in Europe or in the US. But if that doesn’t work out, hopefully working my way up through the ranks of the Federal Reserve.
Favorite food from Central Market
The cook to order Ramen is really good, but it takes forever to get, but also the Dutch Letter ice cream. They only had it once, but it was bomb.
