Why did you chose Central?
I chose Central because I connected really well with the coaches and because I really liked the campus when I came on visits. Also, the atmosphere at the game day visit I went on was really special and I wanted to be a part of that.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor would have to be Professor Shuger-Fox in the Kinesiology department. She is someone who you are able to have long conversations with and someone who looks out and cares for her students. She also invited me to do research with her on two different studies!
You’re majoring in Kinesiology and Biology because?Â
I first was majoring in kinesiology because I wanted to become a physical therapist, and I found learning the body to be fascinating. Then with all of the biology classes I had to take as prerequisites for grad school, I decided to add it as a second major.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am a member of the A Cappella Choir and programming board.
Who are your go-to musical artists?
My favorite artists are Noah Kahan, Gregory Alan Isakov and Mt. Joy.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
I was able to meet so many friends who are on the football team as well as gain so many connections and opportunities from the coaching staff.
Favorite professional athlete?
My favorite professional athlete is David Montgomery on the Detroit Lions. I have been watching him since he was on Iowa State, and it has been really exiting to see him succeed at the highest level.
Teammate you’d take with you to win the Amazing Race?
I would take my teammate Paddy Bozik. He is an offensive lineman as well, and we are able to work really well together. I feel like he would be able to get us out of tough situations and is just someone you want working by your side.
Which cartoon character do you most resemble?
Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph
Most embarrassing football moment?
It was my sophomore year, and we were playing the University of Dubuque on Homecoming. It was my first game back from tearing my MCL and it was 90+ degrees in October. I had a good first half and went into halftime but then coming out my legs just started to cramp and I could hardly walk. I went over to the trainers and had to consume a lot of sodium because I had been drinking too much water, trying to stay hydrated, and was out the whole 3rd quarter.
Favorite TV Show
My favorite TV show is Peaky Blinders on Netflix.
What’s it like to play for Coach McMartin?
He is someone who wants you to succeed at being a better human just as much as succeeding at being an athlete.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central football?
It would have to be getting together with the offensive line on Thursdays during the season and finding a buffet to eat at and hang out.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
I hope to be working as a physical therapist rehabilitating athletes and adults.
