Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because I knew I would be more than a number here. At Central everybody knows everybody and my professors care about me, not just as a student but as a person. Opposed to some of the state schools I looked at, the smaller community provides a sense of belonging and family. Also my tour guide was cute and that could’ve possibly helped my decision;)

Favorite professor and why?

I have a lot of professors who mean the world to me, but the one who sticks out the most is Dr.Diers. Not only is she an amazing professor but she is an incredible person. She believes in me when I don’t believe in myself. We’ve both laughed together and cried together, she has completely changed my life.

You’re majoring in Elementary Education because?

I want to be a teacher because students who are loved at home come to school to learn, and students who aren’t come to school to be loved. I have a very big heart and care about all of the kids I work with very deeply. I want to be my student’s biggest cheerleader and encourage them that they can do whatever they put their minds to.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

Besides cheerleading, I am also involved with campus ministries. Through this I have been able to build amazing friendships, volunteer on mission trips, deepen my spirituality, and find incredible mentors.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

Rap is definitely my favorite genre. More specifically some of my favorite artists are Lil Tecca, Polo G, and YoungBoy.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Both attending Central and playing a sport here has changed my life in many ways. It’s taught me how to prioritize the things most important to me and how to show up for myself and my teammates at every practice and game. It’s taught me the importance of hard work and dedication inside the classroom, but also the importance of the smaller things like laughing with your friends on the way to class, appreciating team dinners at CUIFS, and being thankful for tough practices.

If you could sing a duet with one person, who would it be and why?

I would want to sing with Megan Moroney, specifically the song either “Break it Right Back” or “Indifferent”.

Dream vacation spot?
My dream vacation spot is Holland. Although our tulip time is awesome and I love the Central Dutch, I want to go see the tulip fields over there and the actual Dutch heritage.

Biggest pet peeves?

My biggest pet peeve by far is when people are late to things.

What is the oldest thing you own?

Probably my car lol, I still love her though.

Favorite TV Show

I like a lot of Netflix originals. Some of my favorites are Outer Banks, Receiver, and Nobody Wants This.

What’s it like to work with Coach Gbogbo?

Lexi is my girl. She is incredibly kind and compassionate. When we were running late for our Nationals plane because Slippy broke down, she rode on another flight all by herself with my suitcase because it didn’t get checked in time… MY SAVIOR. Aside from that she has an incredible passion and energy she brings to practices and performances which has a way of encouraging us to strive for more and perform our very best.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central Cheerleading?

I love being a part of a team where I genuinely look forward to coming to practice and getting to spend time with my teammates.. even if it’s at 5:15AM ;) My favorite days are Saturdays at Schipper Stadium and getting to cheer for the best football team and fans.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

In 10 years I’ll be 30, and all I truly hope to be is happy. I hope to be a kindergarten teacher and cheer coach at a school I love and have a relationship/family I am proud of. I hope I have chosen to surround myself with people who value me and support me in all aspects of life. I hope to still keep in touch with my friends from Central and attend a CUI football game every once in a while.

Favorite food from Central Market

Sydney Buseman stole my answer of fruit pizza already… so I’ll go with avocado toast or ice cream Wednesdays.

Bucket list

-Place at nattys again
-Get my masters
-Run a half marathon
-Get a golden retriever
-Have a hot husband
