Why did you choose Central?
I chose Central because of the softball program and how competitive the atmosphere is. I also loved the smaller classroom and campus size because it is easier to get to know your professors and not just be a number. Everyone is very personable at Central and that is something that drew me to it because even walking around campus people are smiling and waving so it feels very welcoming.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Ann McDonald. She is new this year but I have loved the class I have with her currently because she makes the material very interesting in fun ways. You can tell she cares about her students and their success. I am excited to have more classes with her next year!
You’re majoring in accounting and business management because?
I am good with numbers and enjoy learning about the ins and outs of running a business. Owning my own business is something I would hope to pursue in the future like my dad does.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) and Ski & Board Club. SAAC meets once a month to discuss planning events and student-athlete involvement on campus/in the conference. Ski & Board Club goes to Aspen, Colorado after finals in the fall and we get to go skiing for a few days! Skiing is definitely one of my favorite things to do and I’m glad I got to teach some of my close friends how to ski there!
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I would have to say Eric Church, Billie Eilish, Morgan Wallen, and Taylor Swift.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Attending Central and playing softball has had the biggest and best impact on my life. I have learned so much on and off the field, became a better person in the process, and met some of my best friends. I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Favorite place you visited during your semester in Greece this fall?
This is such a hard question! We visited seven different countries and 30 different cities but my favorite (outside of Greece) would have to be either Rome or Amsterdam! Amsterdam definitely reminded Chloe Dougherty and I of Pella so it was nice to have a little taste of home there!
If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
I would like to learn how to master the guitar! I only know a few chords so being able to play a song would be a cool skill to have!
You’re creating a music festival, who are three artists you need to bring?
Definitely Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and P!NK! They all have such great stage presences!
Have you ever named one of your cars? If so, what did you name it?
Yes, Chloe and I both have the same car but different colors so we named them Abraham and Agnes the Altimas!
Favorite TV Show
I watch a lot of TV Shows, but one I can always go back and rewatch is The Office!
What’s it like to play for Coach Wares?
Playing for Coach Wares is such a privilege. He is able to push you further than you think you can go and reach your goals as a softball player and a person. He knows so much about the game and does a great job of teaching us all so we have a better understanding of why we do the things we do.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central softball team?
My favorite part about being a member of CCSB is all of it. I love the traditions, competitive atmosphere, the alumni connections, the best friends it gave me, and so much more. I wouldn’t want to play for any other team.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
In ten years I hope I have a good job, am coaching softball or soccer on the side, and have a family! It also would be a dream to be living in Colorado :)
Favorite food from Central Market
I love the popcorn chicken bowls!
Bucket list
I definitely started a traveling bucket list after studying abroad to hit all of the places I missed! So some of the top places would definitely be Paris, Switzerland (to ski), and Iceland!
