Why did you choose Central?

As cliche as it might sound, Central really did feel like a home after my first visit. I loved the sense of community and both the educational and athletic opportunities that were offered. I got to see the Central College women's soccer team's pre-game rituals in the locker room on a game day and knew that was the type of team I wanted to play for. It’s hands down been the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.

Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Shelley Bradfield! Her classes are so engaging and always consist of quality conversations and laughter. She pushes us to be our best and teaches us about the world from so many different lenses. Shelley has been such a huge role model for me during my time at Central.

You’re majoring in communication studies because?jo
I am passionate about people and their stories! That might be capturing those moments on camera, in writing, or planning and creating the events that the memories are made from. I know that no matter where I go or what I end up doing specifically, hearing and telling those stories will be the best part of what I do.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I’ve been part of a variety of things over the years, but currently I am part of SAAC, I’m the junior content specialist for Central Communications, and I work in the Global Cafe! (come visit me this year M-F from 8-9 for a smiley face on your coffee cup)

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I am unapologetically a Swiftie for life, but aside from T-Swift my music taste has such a wide range it’s hard to narrow down favorites! If I was on aux at this very moment I’d probably go with Noah Kahan. With soccer season coming up though you’re guaranteed to start hearing Pitbull blasting from cars, dorms, and the locker room soon…

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Central brought the most amazing people into my life. It’s been so much fun to play soccer and experience all of the unforgettable memories of college, but none of it would be the same without the people I met along the way. Strangers became friends and those friends became family. The way we’ve all grown together has had such a positive impact on my life.

Who is your favorite player on the U.S. Women’s National Team?

My all time favorite is Abby Wambach but she’s been retired… so of the current roster players I’d probably go with Sophia Smith.
WORLD CUP STARTS JULY 20TH EVERYONE BETTER BE WATCHING!!!

Would you rather have more time or more money?

I think I would probably go with more money on this one. Then I can fill the time that I have with more fun things!

Favorite professional sports team?

This is a toss up for an all sports fan… but as a soccer player first I’m gonna have to go with the Chicago Red Stars!

Go-to gas station snack and drink?

It switches up now and then but most often I probably grab a peach Red Bull or any other unhealthy caffeinated drink and Twizzlers!

Favorite TV Show

You best “Believe” since “Fútbol Is Life” that it’s Ted Lasso! It’s just the perfect blend of funny and heartwarming. I highly recommend it!

What’s it like to play for Coach Kobylinski?

Playing for Coach Koby consists of long text messages, matching outfits, and a whole lot of jokes! He’s done a great job of building our team culture into a place that pushes and supports each other in every way on and off the field.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central women’s soccer team?

We just have so much fun together. Whether it’s in the locker room, on a bus, at Central Market, or in Europe.. the laughter is just contagious. The environment consists of singing & dancing with no rhythm, a variety of loud and slightly concerning laughs, and too many questionable inside jokes, all wrapped into a group that feels like family. Any day that I get to be around the team is a good day!

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I would love to be working for a professional sports team probably somewhere outside of the Midwest! Maybe I’ll be in NYC with the roomie (shoutout to Isom). I don’t usually think that far ahead so I just hope I’m doing something I love, in a place that I love, with people I love!

Favorite food from Central Market

Homemade French Toast Bar! Best topped with peanut butter and strawberries. I love a good breakfast for dinner!

Bucket list

My bucket list mostly consists of traveling! I would love to visit as many National Parks as possible, and see different parts of the world. I also want to learn how to surf, see a Women’s World Cup game (or a few), and swim with some sea animals.
