Why did you chose Central?
I chose Central because of the facilities and opportunities Central has to offer. Knowing I wanted to play golf and receive a strong education, Central’s private golf range, Kuyper Athletics Complex, and Bos Landen down the road were very appealing. Additionally, the small class sizes and interaction between professors and other students was just what I was looking for.
Favorite professor and why?
I’ve had many great professors although, one stands out to me and that’s Dr. Keith Jones. I explored psychology as a freshman and quickly discovered I’m no psychologist, but Dr. Jones proved to me he’s more than an educator. He’s someone who enjoys having a good conversation and encouraging you with your athletic and academic journey at Central.
You’re majoring in Business Management because?
It’s a major that will benefit me across many areas and prepare me for whatever I decide to pursue after college. Also, my eyes were opened to what’s out there for business and accounting majors when I took part in the Central Career Kickstarter. After experiencing that program, I knew business was the right area for me to pursue with my interests.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
Other than golf, I stay busy with InterVarsity and singing with the A Capella Choir.
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I’m all across the board with music but some of my go-to artists have to be The Killers, Twenty One Pilots, Cody Fry, and The Lumineers.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Attending Central has helped me find who I am and build relationships that I know will impact my future. Golf has been one of my passions for years and being able to play in college has allowed me to experience some amazing opportunities and take my game to the next level.
What is the best cereal?
Can’t go wrong with Peanut Butter Captain Crunch.
Favorite professional golfer?
Justin Thomas. The dude’s wedge and iron play is pure. Not only is he an all-around great golfer, but he carries himself well, is a gentleman, and is growing the game.Â
Favorite sport besides golf?
My favorite sport besides golf is probably football. It’s fun to watch, play, and has been a big part of my life.
What is your dream course to play on?
Â
I think the only correct answer is Augusta National Golf Club. There’s no other tournament quite like the Masters and I think it’s fascinating how private and exclusive the Master’s committee keeps Augusta.
Favorite TV Show
I don’t watch much TV, but I did enjoy watching Outer Banks over the summer of 2020.
What’s it like to play for Coach Blasi?
Playing for Coach Blasi has been a great experience. He really cares for his players and gets to know each one of us individually. This not only builds a strong relationship between him and his players but helps him understand our game, mindset, and goals which I think is huge. Coach pushes us to be our best, loves competitiveness and is a man with many stories.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of the men’s golf team at Central College?
My teammates. Having a group of guys I could connect with right when I got to college was great for me. We push each other and all get to do what we love which is play golf. I know many of my teammates and I will be lifelong friends and I’m beyond thankful to be a member of the men’s golf team at Central.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
In 10 years, I hope to be settled with a good job, be married, maybe have a little family, and just be living life and spreading His word!
