Why Central?
With living so close, I grew up going to the Central Softball camps and absolutely fell in love with the program. I loved the idea of being at a small school, plus my mom and aunt both graduated from Central and loved it. Best decision I’ve ever made!
Favorite professor and why?
That’s really hard because all of our professors in the Education department are amazing! If I absolutely had to choose, I’d probably say either Julianne Taylor or Mary Stark.
In your iPod?
Mostly country, contemporary Christian music and some rap.
You’re majoring elementary education because?
Many reasons, but mostly because I love kids and I love seeing them grow! I’ve also been blessed with incredible teachers both in my family and from my childhood that have inspired me to pursue a career in education.
Celebrity crush?
Clay Matthews III, no contest.
Most important pre-game ritual?
All of our pre-game rituals are important, but I’d say either High Hopes or our good luck pennies from Thom!
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Not very many. I wear my shoes until they fall apart.
Best book you’ve ever read?
The Harry Potter series will forever be my favorite. I can reread them over & over and they never get old
Sporting event you’d love to attend?
The World Series to watch the Cards or Superbowl to watch the Packers!
Who is your hero/inspiration?
There are a lot of people who inspire me daily. My grandpa is one of my biggest heroes because he has a heart of gold and would do anything to help anyone.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Negative attitudes drive me insane. Bad days are only bad days if you let them be!
The one thing people don’t know about Coach Wares?
He’s the king of groutfits, loves Wendy’s, and always chews a new piece of Super Bubble before every game.
Why do you love Central softball?
There isn’t enough room to write why I love Central Softball and even if there was I don’t think I could put it all into words. There’s absolutely nothing better than being part of a program that pushes you farther than you’ve ever been pushed while at the same time giving you more support than you’ve ever had. I’m a very competitive person, so being surrounded with people who are all giving their all to work towards a common goal is incomparable. Central softball has taught me that failure is a part of life, and what’s important is how you move on from that and focus on the next opportunity.
“Ten years from now I’ll...”
Be teaching and coaching somewhere, married with a few kids.
Favorite food from Central Market?
CUIFS corn nuggets are the BOMB. I also love fruit pizza and chicken wraps
Bucket list
Win a national championship, do mission work/ water purification in Central America, go gator hunting in Louisiana, take my dad deep sea fishing, go with my mom to Australia, run the Leadville 100 mile race, visit the set where they filmed Harry Potter and ride the Hogwarts Express, and travel the world and experience as many cultures possible.
