Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central because of the football coaches and the homey feelings I got when I visited campus. It felt like my hometown of Elkader, Iowa.

Who are your go-to musical artists ?

Alan Jackson and George Strait.

You’re majoring in Engineering because?

I’ve always loved knowing how things work and I want to build and create things for the rest of my life.

If you could time travel, would you go to the past or to the future?

Nothing good can ever come from traveling to the future, and traveling to the past will only mess up your future. For sake of the question however, I would travel back in time to WWII.

How do you want to be remembered?

I live by the motto, “work hard play hard.”

Strangest thing you have ever eaten?

Oysters on the half shell are not recommended and neither is escargot (snail).

If you could go back in time and personally witness any event, what would it be and why?

I’d travel back to the testing of the first atomic bomb at Alamogordo, New Mexico. I’d like to experience the power of such a weapon even from many miles away.

I’ve watched the entire season of The Office four times now and counting… ..

What’s one thing people might not know about coach Walz?

Coach Walz still holds the all-time 3A discus state meet record in Iowa.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central track and field?

The throwers are a unique bunch and it feels like a family. I love them and my coaches and I have nothing but great words to say about the Central Track and Field program.
