Senior
Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock HS
Why did you chose Central?
Honestly, I just wanted to play tennis. Just kidding. My first visit that I came on I fell in love with the campus, and getting to sit in on one of Dr. Shugar Fox’s classes I could see how much passion she had for her profession that I knew that that was exactly what I wanted for whereever I was to go.
Favorite professor and why?
John Roslien. Hands down. Not only has he been my teacher in several classes, but he is also my advisor. He always makes sure that he keeps his classes interesting, and if the students are lacking in work he makes sure that we all buckle down and make sure we get to be where we want to be. He has helped me more than I can thank him for.
Who are your go-to musical artists ?
Working at Stanford Nike Tennis Camps for the last few years, the latina pop music has grown on me. I’ve started to listen to music similar to J Balvin, or artists like Luis Fonsi who sang Despacito. Otherwise my go-to artists are in the pop and rap ranges, but no real favorites.
You’re majoring in exercise science because?
I’m majoring in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Human Development, because growing up I had always been into sports, psychology, science, and anything that relates to them. So to me, this only made sense to follow the Exercise Science major, and follow up with numerous psychology classes to better learn how humans develop not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
What’s your favorite smell in the whole world?
I grew up most of my life in Waverly, Iowa and what a lot of people don’t know is that we have a Nestle factory in town. Being able to walk out of your house and smell hot chocolate, you can’t really complain!
If you received a salary to follow whatever passion you wanted to, what would you do?
I absolutely love traveling and seeing the world and its wonders, so if I could get paid to do that… It would be a dream come true! Any sponsors???
Any favorite karaoke songs?
HA. I don’t even let people see me sing. But one time I did Don’t Stop Believin'.
What is your favorite joke?
I don’t know why, but this one gets me every time..
Q. What do you call a fake noodle?
- An impasta!
Teammate who would have the most success on Dancing with the Stars
It would probably have to be Kirsten Jordan or Cassidy Bos, I’ve seen both of them bust a move.. And their moves definitely beat mine or anyone else’s that I’ve seen!
Most embarrassing (sport) experience
One time taking an overhead I nailed my opponent so hard that she wiped out big time… I couldn’t stop laughing while the ATs took her off the court.. I have no idea why! I was so embarrassed!
Favorite TV Show
I’d have to say Dexter is my favorite. I use to want to be a forensic anthropologist and psychology mixed in with this show had me hooked.
What’s one thing people might not know about Coach Ferrell?
I’m not sure who all he associates with, but one thing interesting is that if he doesn’t have caffeine or really at different times he has different characters or personalities that come out. Most of the time funny ones!
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central tennis?
I’ve never had a team that worked well on the court together as a team, until I came here. And from going from not having that to having it now, you could definitely say I am thankful.
“Ten years from now I’ll...”
Ten years from now I will be living in Florida, with the love of my life and our two dogs, living on the beach, paramedic of the Miami Dolphins, and living life to the fullest.
Favorite food from Central Market
Definitely the Friday Mongolian Grill where you can build it yourself. The one time I make sure I go to the cafeteria.
Bucket list
Travel the world, swim with sharks, learn how to surf, road trip up the West Coast, get my dream job as a paramedic for a professional sports team, marry the love of my life, get a dog, own a house, buy a new car, and live on the coast. More to add.:)
