Pauly Apostolopoulos (uh-PAHST-ul-lopp-uh-lus) joined the Central College men's soccer coaching staff in the spring of 2022.

Apostolopoulos played his freshman season at Pella High School before going to England to play with Derby County's youth academy in 2012. He moved to Colorado and played for the Colorado Rush Academy in 2013 and 2014 while attending Heritage High School in Littleton.

After high school, Apostolopoulos went back to England to play for Brackley Town and Redditch United in the sixth and seventh tiers of the English professional leagues, respectively, from 2014 to 2018. He wrapped up his international playing career with Wellington Olympic AFC in New Zealand for the 2018-19 season.

Since returning to Iowa three years ago, Apostolopoulos has been coaching the Iowa Rush under-19 boys team. He recently guided them to the 2022 Iowa President's Cup title.

Pauly's dad Takis was an assistant coach with Laidlaw from 2002-04. That 2002 squad won the Iowa Conference's regular season title with an 8-0-1 mark.
