Central College Athletics

After helping as a student assistant coach last season, Owen Brase is joining the Central College football coaching staff as the tight ends coach for the 2026 season.

An injury-plagued career on the field led Brase to become a student assistant coach for the Dutch football team in 2025. He worked with the quarterbacks and tight ends.
           
Brase joined the Dutch roster as a wide receiver for the 2023 season, after transferring from Drake University. Brase appeared in four games in 2023 before an injury knocked him out for the remainder of the campaign. His 2024 season was also wiped out by injury.
           
Brase spent the summer of 2025 working with the University of Iowa's football team as a recruiting assistant. He also worked with Mount Vernon High School athletes in the summers of 2023 and 2024 as a strength and speed coach.
           
The Dutch have gone 8-2 in three consecutive seasons, placing third in the American Rivers Conference each year.
