LINCOLN, NEB.— Hitting the road for its first American Rivers Conference match of the season Wednesday afternoon, the Central College women's tennis team was victorious 7-0 at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
The Dutch (2-1, 1-0 conference) made it five straight wins against the Prairie Wolves (0-1), dating back to the spring of 2023.
Lauren Gano (senior, Johnston) needed a tie-breaker to earn the No. 1 singles win against Kylie Engelsman but finished on top 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8). She also secured a 6-3 at No. 1 doubles with partner
Emma Murphy (senior, Liberty).
The largest margin of victory belonged to
Rebekah Christensen (senior, Marshalltown) at No. 6 singles, who blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Central has a 9 a.m. match at Simpson College Saturday.
