PELLA — Facing an NCAA Division II program, the Central College women's tennis team lost 7-0 to Truman State University (Mo.) Thursday.
           
Central (7-9) has challenged itself with its non-conference slate in advance of the American Rivers Conference next week and Thursday was no different.
           
The Dutch came close to a win at No. 3 doubles before Sidney Peterson (freshman, Johnston) and Emily Blom (sophomore, Pella) fell 7-5.
           
Central travels to Grinnell College for a 2 p.m. match Sunday. An American Rivers Conference tournament quarterfinal awaits for Central on Tuesday.
