Why did you choose Central?
I chose Central College because of its outstanding Kinesiology program, and because of the team culture of the cross-country team. There were also lots of opportunities to get involved on campus, and my visit was a ton of fun.
Â
Favorite professor and why?
Dr. Keith Jones because I love his sarcasm and he is genuinely a fun guy.
Â
You’re majoring in kinesiology because?
I want to be a chiropractor so I can serve others and care for them. Kinesiology is all about the human anatomy which I find fascinating.
Â
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
InterVarsity, a campus ministry where we study God’s word in fellowship together. I also disc golf and play some gennis.
Â
Who are your go-to musical artists?
Henrik, Josiah Queen, Rex Orange County
Â
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
It’s created a community of people I know have my back in all aspects of my life. Eating meals with the team at the dining hall is my favorite part of the day, so I’d say attending Central and running cross-country has brought me a lot of joy and love in my life.
Â
Run along the beach or run in the mountains?
I would run in the mountains, got to get the elevation training in. The views would be fantastic as well.
Â
Pre-race meal of choice?
Spaghetti with red sauce, Italian sausage, parmesan cheese, Caesar salad, and sourdough bread. Along with water of course.Â
Â
Teammate who could win American Ninja Warrior?
Donovan Card, he is very strong but lean which I think suits American Ninja Warrior well.
Â
Favorite professional sports team?
NFL – Seattle Seahawks
NBA – Oklahoma City Thunder
MLB – Kansas City Royals
Â
Favorite TV Show
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Â
What’s it like to compete for Coach Dunham?
It’s been an incredible experience so far. Coach Dunham goes all in for his athletes and is always learning new ways to make us better. It’s encouraging to run for a coach who puts in just as much work as the athletes in getting to know us and care for us.
Â
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central’s men’s cross country team?
The team culture and brotherhood. We suffer through workouts and races together and that is a special thing you don’t do with just anybody. I feel connected with all the guys on the team and that is my favorite part being a part of it.
Â
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
I hope to be a practicing chiropractor here in Pella or somewhere nearby. Hopefully doing some triathlons and marathons as well.
Â
Favorite food from Central Market
Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwich.
Â
Bucket list
Do an ironman, run in a major world marathon, get an ace in disc golf, go to a lot of different countries and experience different cultures.
