Why did you choose Central?
When visiting, everyone at Central was very nice and it felt like home. I knew after visiting with a few professors that they all care about each student’s education and future that lie ahead of them. I was also very impressed with the golf complex, not many schools have their own driving range and outdoor practice facility. Central college and the Pella community just felt like the place where I could grow the most with many opportunities.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Dr. Benedict. I may be partly bias because he is my academic advisor, but ever since freshman year he has been there to answer any of my question and help me exceed in my college career.
You’re majoring in Biology because?
I want to pursue a career in the medical field. Here at Central, Biology allows me to meet many prerequisites of various programs after my undergraduate.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in SOS Orientation Team, TA for Diversity of Life Lab, and am the Men’s Basketball Office Assistant.
Who are your go-to musical artists?
It really depends on what I am doing, but my go-to genre would be country.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Coming from a small high school, I was a four-sport athlete and the opportunity to continue the sport I love the most in college makes me so grateful. I’ve made so many connections with golf since I started and blessed to continue to make more.
What’s the best advice you have ever gotten and from who?
“Live outside your comfort zone.” - High school Basketball Coach
Favorite course you’ve ever played and the course you desperately want to play
Prairie Links is probably my favorite course I have played in college so far. It’s a very open course, so when the wind isn’t blowing it can be fun to play.
Toughest hole at Bos Landen
Hole 14
Favorite TV Show
Fixer Upper on HGTV
What’s it like to compete for Coach Schumacher?
I’ve enjoyed competing for Coach Schumacher, she is always pushing us to do our best. She’s always there to help and give pointers with anything at practice. Most of all, she likes to have fun!
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central golf?
My favorite part about our team is the sisterly like bond that we all share. We are able to push each other to become better and support each other on the rough days.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
I hope that I will have a job in the career I love, to be married, and raising a family.
