Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central because I felt like a part of the Dutch Family from the very first time I visited. I knew Central would provide me with a strong community, challenge me to prepare me well for my future career, and give me many opportunities that would grow me as an individual.

Favorite professor and why?

That’s a hard one! The Math Department is full of amazing professors who challenge you as a student but also really invest in you as a person. I’ve particularly enjoyed having class with Dr. Mills because he challenges me in the classroom but also in the conversations we have.

You’re majoring in mathematics because?

Because I’m a nerd and LOVE math. J But also because I love people and teaching and being able to share my passion for math.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I am also involved with FCA, CTA (Central Teacher Academy), and Math Club.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I honestly let others choose for me and hop on the bandwagon. Give me anything country or Christian and I’m happy.I have to say Tauren Wells is a recent favorite.

What did you do for work and for fun in the summer of 2019?

I got to spend the summer hanging out with 150 high schoolers for Upward Bound. I have never been in an environment that is more loving, positive, supportive, or joy filled than what our UB is. I’m so thankful that I got to spend the summer with these future world changers.

Favorite place you visited in Europe while studying in Hungary?

My favorite place was Athens, Greece. The history there is incredible and it feels as if you were walking through the olive groves with Jesus. The Greek culture is also incredibly vibrant and everyone there was so kind. You can see it in a day—if you’re willing to walk 18+ miles. J

If you could sing a duet with one person, who would it be and why?

You really don’t want to hear me sing!

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

The first thing that comes to mind is walkie talkies. My mom and I went on a mission trip to South Africa and the girls at the orphanage we were staying at made us a traditional dinner one night. It’s a little intimidating when chicken heads(talkies) and chicken feet(walkies) are staring at you from your plate.

If you could speak another language, which would it be and why?

Spanish. I’ve tried to learn twice and it hasn’t stuck yet. Maybe a third time would be a charm. But once you know Spanish, you can communicate with so many more people and understand other languages too.

Favorite TV Show

I don’t typically watch a lot of TV but Quantico and the Village are both personal favorites of mine.

What’s it like to play for Coach Kobylinski?

I think one thing you do not completely understand until you play for Koby is just how well he knows his stats. It amazes me every time! But we have a lot of fun and crack lots of jokes all while he challenges us to perform our best.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central soccer?

My favorite part about Central soccer is the family you are a part of, including the guy’s team. Everyone genuinely cares about everyone else and the bonds that we form are incredibly tight. Plus, we all have a ton of fun together and there are always plenty of smiles and laughs to go around.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

Ten years from now, I hope to be settled down (living the grandma life), watching the sunrise from my front porch while the roosters crow before my kids wake up and I head off to teach.

Favorite food from Central Market

I love the pesto bread days but also don’t get me started on ice cream Wednesdays!

Bucket list

- To run a marathon
- To go to London
- To go to a Packer’s game
