Why did you chose Central?
It felt like home. Central is the perfect fit for me. Academically they are one of the best for my career (teaching) and I couldn’t imagine wrestling for a different school.
Favorite professor and why?
Dr. Barloon, he calls me chaz.
Who are your go-to musical artists ?
I don’t necessarily have go-to artists but I throw on 80’s music whenever I can.
You’re majoring in social science because?
I love history and want to be a middle/high school teacher and coach. History and working with kids are truly my passions.
If you could be a cartoon character for a week, who would you be?
Shaggy, because he can eat whatever he wants and can never gain any weight.
What dream that you’ve had has resonated with you the most?
I dreamed of making the state wrestling tournament when I was a sophomore and when I qualified that year, I literally saw my dream come true.
Would you rather be a famous rock singer or the next Einstein/Tesla?
Rock singer, the hair is unmatched.
What’s your favorite family tradition?
Grandma’s Christmas on Christmas Eve. We open 2 sets of presents and Grandma makes the best ham balls.
What’s the most interesting class you had this semester?
US in World Affairs. I have really enjoyed looking at the foreign policies of some of the most famous presidential administrations.
What’s your favorite smell in the whole world?
Coffee, hands down.

White Collar.
What’s one thing people might not know about Coach Van Kley?
We once had a hard workout in the old wrestling room where it was so wet and sticky from all the sweat that he yelled, “if I had a garden hose, I’d spray this whole room down and make it ten times harder”. It became the running joke of that year.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central wrestling?
The bond I have created with everyone over the last 4 years. We have 10 seniors this year and I’d argue that we are one of the closest groups that the team has ever had. We have done almost everything together since freshman year and the memories we have made will stick with me forever.
