Why did you chose Central?
I chose to take my talents to Pella, because it’s the home of the best post-secondary institution on the planet. If you ain’t Dutch, you ain’t much! Go Dutch!
Favorite professor and why?
This question feels like a trap, but if I had to answer, I’d say that all the professors at Central are my favorite. They’re all great!
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I’m a big fan of country music singers, such as Randy Travis, George Strait, Toby Keith, and of course, Zach Brown and his band fellow Central Baseball Class of 2017 Grads: Blake Judkins, Noah Stochl, Seth Griffiths, Michael Reuter, and Jacob Hirst (Not to be confused with the Zac Brown Band).
You’re majoring in Actuarial Science because?
I’m majoring in Actuarial Science, because I’m a strange guy that loves analyzing and playing around with numbers. If crunching numbers is cool, consider me Miles Davis.
What is your favorite Central College tradition?
By far my favorite Central College tradition is the Lemming Race. I’ll miss not being able to dress up with my baseball brothers, but I appreciate all the wonderful memories that have come from this tradition.
Which president of yours would make the best U.S. President and why?
My favorite president is Abraham Lincoln, because I’m pretty sure that my mom once told me that we were distantly related to him. Because of this, I have to say he’s the best.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or to the future?
If possible, I’d choose to travel to the future to see if there’s a cure for my Type 1 diabetes or maybe see what it’s like to drive a flying car.
Describe the worst job you have ever had.
If I had to pick one, I suppose I’d say that the worst job I’ve ever had was being an umpire. I’d definitely choose playing baseball over umpiring it any day of the week.
What’s the best prank you have ever pulled and who was it on?
Well, there was this one time when I got in the middle of a squirt gun fight with some other baseball guys and instead of having a water gun, all I had was a banana cream pie. You could say I won that battle.
The best part of going to Florida for Spring Break.
The best part of our Spring Break trip is definitely all the crazy hairdos and facial hair styles that our team comes up with. Because I can’t grow noticeable facial hair, last year, I had to color my mustache in with waterproof mascara. The warm weather down south isn’t too bad either.
Favorite TV Show
Without a doubt, it’s got to be Dragon Ball Z. I watch it every Saturday night. Ka-me-ha-me-ha!!!!
What’s one thing people might not know about Coach Gritsch?
One thing a lot of people may not know about Coach Gritsch is that today’s his birthday (every day). If you see him, make sure to sing for him.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central Baseball?
I love being a member of Central Baseball, because we truly are a family. I’ve been through so much with these guys, and I’m proud to call each one of them my brother.
“Ten years from now I’ll...”
Ten years from now, I’ll probably try to figure out what I want to do with my life. Oh yeah, and I might also start to think about proposing to my girlfriend around that time.
Favorite food from Central Market
Well, if I had to choose amongst the multitude of great options, I’d elect fresh cookie Tuesday as my favorite.
