Sophomore
Redfield, Iowa
Why did you chose Central?
It honestly wasn’t my first choice, but (Director of Academic Resources) Eric Jones really reeled me in. He really followed up and once I visited, that was it. I knew this was the place for me.
Favorite professor and why?
Shelley Bradfield or Sam Mate-Kodjo. Shelley cares more about you than just your grades, she tells you how it is and real with you about everything. Mate-Kodjo because he is hilarious. He really jokes with my class like one of the students. Once before a test he told me, “If you know everything, you’ll be fine”.
Who are your go-to musical artists ?
Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my dad and he always had Rock & Roll on the radio so I love Def Leppard, but I’m also a big fan of Khalid or rap.
You’re majoring in Communication because?
I didn’t want to be tied down to a specific job, like doing research or being a teacher, nor do I have the patient for that. I want to be able to roam around and see what fits for me.
If you could speak another language, which would it be and why?
German, because it is so aggressive and its fun listening to someone talk with that accent.
What’s your favorite smell in the whole world?
Freshly cut hay.
What animal best represents you and why?
Well I took a spirit animal test once and I got a turtle so I guess you could say that. It best represents me because I’m relax and I usually go with the flow.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Napping, most definitely.
Favorite movie?
Tangled
Choose your age forever, what age would you choose and why?
21, because that’s the age where you are still young enough and you’re still in college, being a crazy college kid, but it’s old enough to consider yourself basically on your own (with a little help from mom & dad)
Favorite TV Show
No doubt, The Office. Can’t go wrong with a little bit of Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute to brighten your day.
What’s one thing people might not know about Coach Walz?
He has some killer dance moves and is weird like one of the throwers.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central track and field?
Everyone is so close on the team, and everyone is so supportive. Being a thrower is so great. Everyone brings something to the team and we just all fit together.
